Hi my name is Shakila and my last relaxer was on May 22, 2011. I did the big chop that fall. My natural hair is very coily and tight. How can I loosen my curl without any processing or is there any way i can do that?
Hi my name is Rene’e, My last relaxer was in Oct of 2011, I made the decision to go natural in February 2012 and cut off all the processed ends. I forgot what a beautiful grade of hair I had because I was constantly relaxing it; for decades. Since my natural journey I feel free and my hair is so happy, healthy, and growing it is so thick and wavey. what I would like to find out is; recently I died my hair black and whatever is in the dye had my hair so curly and soft where I could just comb it the curls would bounce right back, which it does that when I shampoo and condition it but it doesn’t stay. I use natural products like Wen and Taliah Waajid all the time because they do great on my hair, I just noticed the bounce and spring and was wandering can I have it all the time.
Hello Ladies, My name is LaToya and I made the decision to go Naptural back in Feburary. I haven’t had a relaxer since Jan and while the relaxer was growing out I decided to go ahead and cut off the relaxed ends in July. Right now I currently have twist because I can not seem to keep my hands out of it. Besides doing a protective styling how may I keep my hair from getting tangled on the ends and also how can I start my hair to hanging instead of just fro like?
Hi my name is Shaunda and I’ve just decided to go natural. I do not want to cut my hair. I do go to a salon every two weeks. What are some steps I need to take to care for my hair after so many years of relaxing it.
Hi LaShaunda, First off I want to welcome you to NaturalHairLoveAffair.com! I hope your visit here is all that you’re looking for and more! Congratulations on your return to Napturalhood!
A good hair regime, diet and positive lifestyle is required to achieve healthy, strong & long hair. To begin, I’d suggest washing and deep conditioning weekly with good natural products. Some product brand recs include: Soultanicals, Koils by Nature, Oyin Handmade, Karen’s Body Beautiful, Darcy’s Botanicals, Anita Grant for starters. Be sure to keep your hair in low maintenance styles while your hair is recovering from chemical processing or heat damage. Incorporate these steps into your hair routine for at least 6-8 weeks. You will then begin to see wonderful results. Welcome to the journey! Your presence hair is appreciated!
